Your Voice Mail

St. Olaf offers Voice Mail to all students/faculty/staff. If you would like Voice Mail on your campus extension, stop by our office and sign up. You will share your Voice Mail box with your roommate(s). There is no charge for this service. Our Voice Mail main number is x3737.

To Initialize Your Voice Mail Box:
Once you have signed up for Voice Mail, follow these steps:

  1. Dial 3737 from your extension (to get into the Voice Mail system).
  2. Enter your temporary password (your extension twice, 8 digits).
  3. Press #.
  4. Enter your permanent password. (8 digit # you create, this private number will access your messages.)
  5. When asked to do so, speak clearly your first and last name.
  6. When asked to do so, press 1 for standard greeting or 2 for personalized greeting.
  7. If you have chosen 2, speak clearly and record your greeting.
  8. If you are satisfied with your greeting, press #.

On-Campus Day-to-Day Use of Your Mailbox from Your Extension:

  1. To check messages from your own extension, dial 3737.
  2. When you hear your name, enter your password, then #. (You do not have to wait to hear all the directions, just press #.)

On-Campus Day-to-Day Use of Your Box from Another Extension:

  1. Dial 3737.
  2. Press * when the message begins.
  3. The system will ask for your mailbox #, enter it, followed by your password and then #.

To Change Your Voice Mail Message:

  1. Dial 3737, enter your password.
  2. Press 4 for personal options, then 3 for greetings.
  3. Then choose 1 to change personal greeting, or 3 to change your first and last name(s).
